Fédération des plateformes de répit (FPFR)
The federation supports and assists professionals working in respite care platforms.
Presentation and activity
In France, it is estimated that there are over 9 million caregivers who, on a non-professional basis, assist a dependent person from their circle with daily life activities. We can all potentially find ourselves in this situation. It is essential to provide solutions for these caregivers, who often experience exhaustion due to their caregiving role. Since the 2008-2012 Alzheimer’s Plan, caregiver support and respite platforms (PFR) have been developed, and today there are more than 300 across the country. Staffed by multidisciplinary teams, these platforms offer caregivers of individuals with reduced autonomy due to age, illness, or disability long-term support adapted to the caregiver’s needs: information, training, psychological support, respite solutions, and referrals to local partners. The objective of the PFR Federation is to support and assist the platforms in implementing effective and relevant strategies that serve caregivers. We also promote the identity and role of these platforms to make them more visible and accessible, both to caregivers and to local ecosystems, thereby facilitating dialogue with local partners. Find the PFR in your area on our website soutenirlesaidants.fr.
